How do I redeem my Rube’s gift card?
You may use your gift card in one of our two steakhouse locations (Montour and Waukee, IA) or to purchase Rube’s steaks and other Rube’s products (available to view on our website). To use your gift card to order items from the website, contact Rube’s Customer Service at 1-800-847-8237. We are open Monday-Friday from 8AM - 5PM and Saturday from 9AM - 1PM.
Can I use my gift card online?
Unfortunately, gift cards cannot currently be redeemed online. Contact us at 1-800-847-8237 Monday through Friday from
8 am – 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm to order over the phone.
Why is fresh better than frozen?
Freezing meat decreases its quality, taste and freshness. Over 60% of the weight of meat is inherently water. Upon freezing, water forms ice crystals that can severely damage the cells of meat on a microscopic level. This damage affects not only the texture of the meat, but the taste as well, resulting in less juicy, less tender steaks. Rube’s steaks are shipped FRESH to you – NEVER FROZEN – to guarantee the juiciest, most tender and flavorful steaks around.
How should I store my Rube’s steaks and how long will they last?
Rube’s steaks are shipped FRESH to you within two business days. Upon receipt, they should immediately be removed from the box and placed with their protective wrapping intact in the coldest part of the refrigerator (usually the top rear).
The Recommended Storage Times (RST) for meat, based on a storage temperature of 37°F, are as follows: Steaks and Chops, 2-3 days RST; Roasts, 2-4 days RST.
Can or should I freeze them?
Here’s how to properly freeze Rube’s steaks:
Keep the steaks in their air tight vacuum packed seals and place them in the freezer individually, not in the box. When you’re ready, defrost them by:

Placing them in the refrigerator for 24 hours
If you need them sooner, place them in cold water (below 40 degrees) until thawed – changing the water frequently to keep the temperature below 40 degrees.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAWING IN THE MICROWAVE!
What is the shipping time frame?
Rube’s Steaks are shipped FRESH to arrive at their destination within two business days. Use the chart displayed on the Shipping link for reference. Note that ship dates are subject to change depending on circumstances.
What about shipping to multiple addresses (i.e. for gifts?)

Can I ship outside the US?
Due to import/export restrictions, we are unable to ship our products outside the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
